The Food Assistance Program helps people with low income obtain nutritious food. Food assistance is issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture through Job and Family Services and are used to purchase specific food and grocery items at participating stores.

Eligibility, determined by the agency, is based on federal guidelines including income, resources and household size.

Food assistance benefits are issued on an Eppicc card to be used to purchase healthy food items.
