Child Care Network, a program of Union County Department of Job and Family Services, helps parents offset the cost of their child care while in work or training activities. Eligible parents pay a fee to their child care provider that is based on family size and income, which is subject to change. There are several child care settings to choose from (Type B homes, Type A homes, and centers). Type A homes and centers are monitored and licensed by the State of Ohio. Type B homes are monitored with yearly inspections by Child Care Network staff to make sure they are meeting health and safety standards established by ODHS; and then referred to the state for their license.
The Child Care Network receives a yearly grant from United Way to disperse to families of Union County. This grant expands eligibility to more Union County families who are over income for publically funded child care and will be determined case by case through the Child Care Network.
In addition, Child Care Network offers resource and referral services to all parents, regardless of income. For more information about these services, contact Child Care Network by phone at 64-CHILD.
