Services Funded by Sales Tax Levy


   Funded in whole or in part by the Senior Services Sales Tax    (*sliding fee scale may apply to some services)  


  • Caregiver Relief / Day Respite Care  *   Providing trained individuals to help with the care of older adults who need 24-hour supervision
  • Case Management  Ongoing assessments & consultations with seniors and their families to determine needs and provide support
  • Homemaker Services*  Referral to an agency for assistance with meal preparation, light house cleaning and laundry to maintain a clean, safe & healthy environment
  • Personal Care*  Referral to an agency for assistance in the performance of necessary activities, such as personal hygiene & grooming
  • Home Delivered Meals  Funding provided to support the  Memorial Meals Program
  • Emergency Response Buttons / Automatic Pill Dispensers*    Provides access to emergency services through electronic communication devices & assistance with medication compliance
  • Project Lifesaver  Funding provided to support tracking system for those at risk to wander such as Alzheimer’s & Dementia clients, operated by the  Union County Sheriff’s Office
  • Senior Watch Telephone Call Program  Daily automated call program for safety operated by the  Union County Sheriff’s Office
  • Medication Management *  Medication set-up by a registered nurse for qualified seniors
  • Weekly Shopping  Weekly senior shopping trips available for those who don’t drive through UCATS


  • Farmers’ Market Healthy Seniors Program  Farmers’ Market coupons to be used for fresh local produce for income eligible seniors
  • FILE OF LIFE  Magnetic pouch for the refrigerator and wallet insert to record medications and medical conditions for first responders
  • Food Commodity Program  Partnering with  CASC  to provide monthly food boxes for income eligible seniors through a Federal Program


  • Adult Protective Services  For those who are, or are in danger of being mistreated or neglected and are unable to protect themselves
  • Emergency Needs Assistance  Limited emergency assistance for medication or utilities
  • Homeless Prevention Program  Funding provided to the  Salvation Army  to assist low income seniors at risk of becoming homeless
  • Family to Family Furniture Bank  Providing funding for essential furniture items for low income seniors, located at the  Hope Center
  • Home Safety*  Providing in home safety assessments and safety related home items to improve independence
  • Union County Personal Needs Pantry 


  • Information & Advocacy  Providing resource information about community-based & other services for older adults
  • Life Bio - Life Story Journal   Life Bio  Journal to document the life of a senior as well as the option to pair with companion visitation
  • Medicare Assistance   Medicare  counseling by Senior Services’  OSHIIP  -certified (Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program) staff
  • Project Safe Heat  Free carbon monoxide detector, furnace cleaning & inspection for seniors through Bridges Community Action Partnership
  • Transportation  Medical and Community transportation available; wheelchair accessible through  UCATS
