Ohio Deferred Compensation

Ohio Public Employee Deferred Compensation Program

This is an employer-sponsored supplemental 457 (b) retirement plan offered exclusively to all Ohio public employees. Your pension through OPERS and your Ohio Deferred Compensation account are here to provide you with retirement income when you stop working. Simply enroll, choose how much you want to save from each paycheck, and then let your money work for you. Contributions are payroll deducted prior to federal and state tax withholding and the contributions can be changed throughout the year.

Need to enroll? It takes just a few minutes to complete your enrollment online or you can still reach a representative at the Ohio Deferred Compensation Service Center at 877-644-6457.

Roth 457 Option

Ohio Deferred Compensation participants can choose to make payroll contributions to the Roth 457 option. A Roth option lets you make contributions that are not tax deductible, but provides tax-free distributions, after certain conditions are met. Deciding whether to make Roth contributions will depend on your individual financial circumstances. For additional information review the Ohio DC Roth Contributions brochure.
