From the Director

Brad Gilbert, Director

At the Union County Emergency Management Agency (UCEMA), our mission is to build a resilient community—one that is informed, prepared, and ready to respond when disaster strikes. By working closely with our local first responders, public officials, and community partners, we develop emergency plans, conduct regular training and exercises, and provide public education to minimize the loss of life and property in times of crisis.

UCEMA is authorized under the Ohio Revised Code to lead and coordinate all-hazards emergency management and disaster preparedness efforts across Union County and its political subdivisions. We strongly encourage all residents and businesses to be proactive and:

  • Create a family emergency plan
  • Assemble a three-day disaster supply kit
  • Ensure that your workplace has preparedness measures in place.
  • Valuable resources and guidance can be found at Ready.gov

Emergency preparedness, response, and recovery require a Whole Community approach. We invite you to follow us on social media to stay informed and learn how you can help keep Union County safe and ready.

Stay prepared! Stay safe!
