Our Vision
"To promote and locally lead soil and water conservation efforts within Union County."

Established in 1945, the Union Soil and Water Conservation District, located in Union County, Ohio, is an independent subdivision of the state of Ohio and governed by a locally elected Board of Supervisors.  Union SWCD receives funding from the Union County Commissioners, local municipalities, and the state as matched funding.  These funds support Union SWCD operations, conservation programs, and resource-management initiatives.

Union SWCD works with the citizens of Union County, state and local agencies, and private organizations to promote responsible land-use decisions.  We provide information, technical guidance, and cost-share assistance to homeowners, farmers, and educators.

Additionally, we work closely with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Ohio Department of Agriculture Division of Soil and Water Conservation, the Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, and the Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission. Our goal is to coordinate assistance from all available sources: public, private, local, state, and federal—in an effort to develop locally-driven solutions to natural resource concerns.
