ODNR Tree Planting Guide  (Selecting the right tree is the first step in a successful planting.)

Ordering: We do not accept orders before the sale.  All of the stock is seedlings.  Please make selections below and bring the completed form with you on the day of the sale.   After ensuring that all species desired are still available, we will total your order.  We accept Cash and Checks only as payment; we do not accept credit cards.  

Sale: The sale is on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a species is sold out, it will be unavailable for purchase, so come early if you have a specific need!  Any remaining seedlings not sold during the sale will be sold the following week, Monday-Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm, in the Union SWCD office in Suite D of the Union County Agricultural Center.

Tree Prep/Planting: The trees are root trees, which means that the plant has not been in a pot. Instead, they are dormant trees with no soil around their roots.  Our staff dip the roots in a preservative gel and place them in a plastic bag.  The seedlings should be placed directly into your garden or a permanent pot while they are still dormant to maximize their chances of surviving.
