The Ohio Revised Code defines the purposes and mission of the Juvenile Court in Section 215 1.01 and 2152.01 as:
A. To provide for the care, protection, and mental and physical development of children.
B. Protect the public interest and safety, hold juvenile offenders accountable for their actions, restore the victim, and rehabilitate juvenile offenders;
C. To achieve the foregoing purposes, whenever possible, in a family environment, separating the child from its parents only when necessary for his welfare or in the interests of public safety;
D. To provide judicial procedures through which Chapter 2151 and 2152. Of the Revised Code are executed and enforced, and in which parties are assured of a fair hearing, and their constitutional and other legal rights are recognized and enforced.

The Juvenile Probation Department is now located at 221 West 5th Street, Floor 3. Please contact your assigned Probation Officer with questions regarding the location and availability of in person meetings. If you need assistance reaching Probation Staff, please contact the Juvenile Clerk’s Office and staff will assist you in making contact with someone in the department.
